Top Parcel Company Confirms Colchester Expansion and Local Jobs Boost

The parcel, fulfilment and freight logistics company, Caribou which works across the UK and internationally has confirmed that it will open a new depot in Colchester. The firm’s new depot in town will also bring a jobs boost to the local area, with 20 new positions created.

Daryl Dylan, Caribou Managing Director said, “Colchester is perfectly placed for access to the whole of the southeast of England and has excellent transport links. Locating our new depot here makes a lot of sense and adds an additional connectivity node to our UK-wide network.”

Caribou’s new depot will see twenty full time, permanent positions created. The roles will include sales, warehouse and admin and will see the new recruits join the parcel firm’s nationwide team.

The Colchester depot is expected to handle thousands of mail items, parcels and packages each year for both national and international delivery. The opening comes on the back of a series of milestones for the firm, which recently appointed a new managing director and acquired Grantham’s Lincolnshire County Couriers, creating 30 new jobs in the town. It says that it expects to create 200 new jobs nationwide as it brings additional service areas online, including domestic and international freight forwarding which will be added to the Caribou service portfolio before the end of the year.
