MyLife Digital MD, J Cromack, Named as Top Influencer in Data and Analytics

J Cromack, Managing Director of leading consent management firm MyLife Digital, has been named as one of DataIQ’s top 100 most influential people in data. Cromack was acknowledged for his ongoing dedication to protecting data rights.

The DataIQ power table, developed in partnership with data visualisation expert Tableau, has been used to track the rise of data scientists, data governance professionals, and chief data and analytics officers since 2014.

Cromack was recognised as a key influencer in the data space, ranking amongst the most prominent data enablers on the country’s first and only fully-curated list of the most powerful data and analytics practitioners. “As an enabler, my focus is on helping my clients maintain the utility of, and build, their first party data assets and ensure the data is fully compliant with global data protection regulations,” says Cromack of his role in data protection and privacy.

Together, both Cromack and MyLife Digital are fighting to change the way that consumer data is handled, advocating for greater transparency and control on behalf of customers. As part of this, MyLife Digital has created a scalable consent and preference management platform that empowers consumers to make smarter, more informed decisions over how their data is used, while also supporting businesses in their efforts to build stronger relationships and instil trust in consumers through secure data management.

He said, “I’m delighted to be included in the DataIQ 100, it is an incredible accolade and excellently reflects the amazing work that the team at MyLife Digital have been doing to help organisations adopt more ethical frameworks to use personal data. We’re very proud to have built great technology that helps businesses grow trust through data understanding while empowering consumers to make decisions on how their data can and can’t be used.”

The coveted spot on the DataIQ 100 list comes just months after Cromack’s nod at the 2020 DataIQ awards, where the data expert was named Privacy and Trust Champion of the year. He was recognised for his ongoing support in protecting individual data rights in the digital world, and for his appreciation of the importance of building trust between organisations and their customers. Cromack was also a runner up in the Data for Good category.

As one of the country’s top data influencers, Cromack is planning to use his status to better promote the importance of privacy UX and data ethics, which the MyLife Digital team predict will be hot topics throughout 2021. Data ethics is a key area of interest, and Cromack and his team are currently developing plans to educate businesses on this subject, shifting away from tracking technologies and moving closer towards authenticated journeys. MyLife Digital is on track to release a Data Ethics whitepaper in the spring.
