Author Jade Winters up for Amazon Award

Lesbian romance author Jade Winters is up for the inaugural Kindle Storyteller award, a prize to recognise newly published English language work in any genre. Her book, Lost in You, has been shortlisted after she published it via Kindle Direct Publishing in March this year.

“Despite having a book accepted by a traditional publisher, I was so enamoured with the opportunities I had by self-publishing on Amazon that I rejected the offer,” said Jade Winters, author of Lost in You.  “Some people thought I was mad, but it was the best thing I ever did.”

The winner of the Kindle Storyteller Prize will receive a £20,000 cash prize, a marketing campaign to support their winning book on Amazon.co.uk, access to a mentor and the opportunity to have their book translated into other languages.

Lost in You tells the story of Heidi Cross, manager of a charity centre which is fighting an eviction notice, who finds herself drawn to Vanessa O’Neil, the co-owner of the company responsible for kicking the charity out of their home. While an intense chemistry sparks between the women, Heidi knows the best thing to do for the charity is to keep her distance. However, fate has other plans and keeps throwing them together as Heidi fights for her charity.

Jade has written 18 bestselling books, beginning with her first lesbian romance 143, and has also published several short stories. She is proud to be representing a fiction market so commonly ignored by mainstream publishers.

“Thanks to Amazon, I have been able to take advantage of so many opportunities they offer self-published authors,” Jade added. “I’m able to do what I love every day.”
