New website launches to support parents in the face of growing challenges

A new parenting website, CosyChats.com has opened its virtual doors this week to provide tailored support to stressed out mums and dads. The site’s founder, Tim Evans was inspired to create CosyChats.com after coming to the realisation that today’s parents are facing more challenges than ever before.

“Parenting has never been more challenging than it is right now,” he commented. “Parents are confronted with a growing spectrum of issues ranging from school refusal, and excessive screen time to the difficulty in accessing increasingly stretched support services. There are often impossible hurdles to overcome and lengthy waiting lists.”

“CosyChats.com also believes that many families feel the pressure to be the ‘perfect’ family or parents, which is made all the more real by the onslaught of influencers, fake news and education by TikTok, which confuses self-image and can create unrealistic expectations, or introduce dangerous trends.”

Other issues identified include keeping kids away from the lure of easy money from gangs and drugs, the toxic and unforgiving social media which can lead to bullying and pressure at school. Many schools are under resourced and have a one-size fits all approach that doesn’t work for many children, especially the growing number with special educational needs.

“Parenting in these times feels like it’s the hardest it has ever been,” Tim adds. “Has there ever been a generation of parents who worried as much about who their children were talking to? Today, the once safe zone of a bedroom could now be a petri dish of festering hate, self-doubt, abuse and harm. What evil is that closed door concealing? Parenting can be hard, draining, and sometimes overwhelming. Often it is Isolating, even with family, friends and support groups around you. The fear of being shut down, judged, gossiped and not understood is very real.”

Tim’s personal experiences of becoming a parent fuelled the idea for CosyChats.com. He realised that sharing the experience with someone who has been going through the same thing, and come out the other end, is incredibly powerful and enriching.

CosyChats.com aims to create a community of parents who can share their experience and all the highs and lows of parenting. From the life changing events to the daily struggles, it’s hoped that everyone will be able to find someone who has lived it and overcome it and is ready and willing to share their knowledge, skills, experience and understanding,

CosyChats.com is a non-judgmental space providing impartial support and a friendly ear. Parents can book a session with a series of experienced service providers and speak through their concerns in a safe environment.
