New Underwear Brand Offers Age-Appropriate Underwear For Teens

A new underwear brand has been launched in the UK which offers sophisticated, supportive, and age-appropriate underwear for teenage girls. The SugaPlum range has been specifically designed to bridge the gap between children’s vest tops and adult bras, with styles made exclusively for tweens and teens.

The SugaPlum underwear range is designed for girls aged between 11 and 16 years, and aims to help ease them through the next stage of development. Founded by a mum herself, the styles have been created to ensure that teenage girls feel grown up, comfortable and confident in their own skin, without pushing them into the more mature designs of adult underwear.

“SugaPlum was born from my own experiences of shopping with my teenage daughter, when we were caught between children’s underwear being too childish, and women’s bras being too extreme a leap from vests,” says Sue Guerrieri, Founder of SugaPlum. “I knew that we couldn’t be the only mum and daughter to find ourselves in this situation, so I created SugaPlum.

“SugaPlum is a convenient place where parents can shop online with their teenage daughters, having complete peace of mind that this is underwear that’s been designed exclusively for this age range. There’s no embarrassment or awkwardness, it’s just great underwear that’s supportive, comfortable, and sophisticated without any connotations.”

Every item in the SugaPlum range is made from quality cotton with added spandex and polyester, for underwear that supports growing and changing bodies but which is also flexible enough to allow for after school activities and extracurricular clubs. The bras are strategically designed and manufactured to allow for maximum comfort, whether at school, or at play, each and every day. SugaPlum sizes start at 28AA, and are available right up to a size 34D.

The introduction of the brand comes at a time when more focus is being placed on mental health and wellbeing amongst young people in the UK. Earlier this month, a new £35 million government-backed research programme was launched to provide improved support for teenagers battling with mental health issues. It is hoped that dedicated underwear options for teen girls could help to minimise body issues throughout puberty.

Every SugaPlum purchase helps to support the fantastic work done by Papyrus UK; a national charity dedicated to the prevention of young suicide. 5% of SugaPlum profits are donated to the charity to help raise greater awareness of mental health issues amongst young adults, as well as to honour the SugaPlum Founder’s daughter Geneva who tragically took her own life.
